It is light enough to carry from room to room. Here is how to settle in wherever you land.
The sofa office
Best for: working, streaming, long reads- Sit all the way back. On a deep sofa, a cushion behind you brings you forward, so the pillow rests on your lap, not your knees.
- Feet on the floor or a footstool, whichever feels steadier.
- Mug on a side table, not on the pillow top. A fabric top and a full mug don't mix.
- Phone and remote in the side pockets, so nothing slips down the cushions.
The bed desk
Best for: reading, a film on the tablet, late emails- Sit up against the headboard with a pillow or two behind your back.
- Legs straight or knees slightly bent. The open U-shape leaves room to shift.
- Lamp beside you, so it lights the page or keys without glare on the screen.
- Done for the night? Move the laptop to the bedside table rather than leaving it running on the duvet.
The floor corner
Best for: console gaming, crafts that need room- Sit on a rug or floor cushion with your back against the sofa or a wall.

1 · Bring the screen up
With a laptop flat on your lap, the screen sits low and you spend a lot of time looking down. A common desk-setup tip: the top edge of the screen around eye level or a little below, roughly an arm's length away.
- A slim laptop stand, or a sturdy hardback book under the laptop, lifts the screen.
- A wireless keyboard and mouse let the laptop sit higher while you type on the pillow top.
- Check that whatever is under the laptop sits steady before you start.
- On a tablet or e-reader, a stand or folding case does the same job.
2 · Plan your breaks
A sofa is comfortable enough to forget the time. Pick a rhythm, for example a few minutes up and about every 30 to 60 minutes, and let a timer or phone reminder do the remembering. Natural cues work too: the end of a meeting, a chapter, an episode or a match.
Break ideas: refill your water · walk to another room · open a window · stretch your legs · put the kettle on.
3 · Let your laptop breathe
Many laptops take in air from underneath or the sides. Keep those vents clear of fabric and blankets, and follow your laptop maker's guidance. A stand or a hard tray under the laptop keeps its base off the fabric.
4 · Switch places
Move around through the day: sofa in the morning, floor for an evening game, bed for a chapter before sleep. Tidy cables out of walkways as you go.
Day one: unpack it and let it rise
It arrives vacuum-packed and flat, so the parcel stays small, and rises to its full shape over 24 to 48 hours.
- Open with care. Snip the plastic at an edge with the scissors pointing away from the pillow, so the blade never touches the cover.
- Give it space. Take it fully out of the plastic and lay it flat, with nothing on top while it rises.
- Wait 24–48 hours. Then it is ready. Still flat after 48 hours? Message us through our contact form with your order number.
Keep the vacuum bag and plastic wrap away from babies and young children, and recycle them where your local rules allow.
Looking after the cover
Only the cover goes in the washing machine. Keep the foam out of the machine.
- Empty. Take everything out of both side pockets.
- Unzip. Slide the foam out, then close the zip again so it can't snag in the wash.
- Gentle wash. Machine-wash the cover on a gentle cycle. If its care label gives a temperature, follow the label.
- Air-dry. Hang it or lay it flat, and let it dry completely before you zip it back on.
Between washes
- Shake out crumbs and empty the pockets now and then.
- A lint roller lifts yarn fluff, glitter and pet hair from the top.
A spot on the foam?
- Dab it with a slightly damp cloth. Don't soak it.
- Let the foam dry completely before the cover goes back on.

Before you order
It looks big. Will it fit my sofa and my lap?
It is big on purpose: about 56 × 56 cm (22 × 22 in) and 33 cm (13 in) high, and most of that width is the padded armrests. The U-shape arches over your legs and leaves room to shift. It doesn’t fold, so it lives on the sofa or by the bed, not in a drawer. Check the size drawing in the photos against your seat first.
Will my laptop fit? Can I use a mouse?
Measure first: the flat top takes a laptop, tablet or open book, and the size drawing in the photos shows its measurements, so check them against your laptop before you order. Yes to the mouse: the fabric top works under one.
Why does it cost more than a cushion?
Because it is a cushion and a lap desk in one: a memory-foam core, a flat top, padded armrests, two side pockets and a zip-off cover that goes in the wash. You pay once, with nothing to charge or refill. Used every day for a year, it comes to ≈ €0,18 a day (an example, not a promise of how long it lasts).
Is it well made?
Judge it by what it is made of: a high-density memory-foam core, a flat top with padded armrests, and a zip-off fabric cover that goes in the washing machine. It is new in our shop, so we make no promise of how many years it lasts. If it arrives damaged or faulty, message us through our contact form and we make it right, as our refund policy says.
How long does delivery take?
It is delivered 10–12 business days after dispatch, with free tracked shipping, and you get a tracking link by email as soon as it ships. The dispatch and arrival dates next to the Buy Now button are worked out for the day you order (we don’t dispatch on closure days). For Christmas delivery, order by Wed, Dec 2.
What if I change my mind?
Returns follow our refund policy; ask through our contact form. The policy asks for the pillow unused and in its original packaging, and a vacuum bag can’t be re-sealed at home, so if the size worries you, check it before you open the bag. In the EU you can also cancel within 14 days of delivery, without giving a reason.
It arrives flat. Will it rise?
Yes, over 24 to 48 hours. It is vacuum-packed so the parcel stays small: take it fully out of the plastic somewhere airy, lay it flat with nothing on top and let the foam rise. Still flat after 48 hours? Message us through our contact form with your order number and we make it right.
Can I give it as a gift?
Yes. Put their address at checkout and it goes straight to them, tracked. Two things to know: it arrives vacuum-packed and needs 24–48 hours to rise, and we can’t promise the parcel has no paperwork in it, so if the price must stay a secret, send it to yourself first. For Christmas delivery, order by Wed, Dec 2.
Is this a real shop?

Is it good for my back or neck?
We make no health claims for it. What it does: it holds the laptop or book level above your legs and gives your forearms somewhere to rest. The screen still sits lower than on a desk, so the free guide above shows how a laptop stand or a hardback lifts it.
What about my laptop’s air vents?
Keep them uncovered. Many laptops take in air from underneath or the sides, so a laptop stand or a hard tray on the top keeps the base off the fabric. Gaming laptops can run warm: follow your laptop maker’s guidance.
What if children use it?
